Pakistan Women’s Cricket Team Will Not Travel to India for World Cup: Mohsin Naqvi

Aaqib Javed Named Interim Coach; Naqvi Silent on Rizwan Rift

LAHORE – : Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has confirmed that the Pakistan Women’s Cricket Team will not travel to India for the upcoming ICC Women’s World Cup. Speaking to media, Naqvi clarified that Pakistan will adhere strictly to the terms of the agreement in place, which allows for participation at a neutral venue.

“It is now up to India to decide which neutral venue they want to choose,” he stated, underscoring that Pakistan will not send its women’s team to India under the current circumstances.

Naqvi praised the recent performance of the women’s team, noting that united efforts lead to success. He hinted at rewards for the team in recognition of their strong performance.

Regarding the men’s team, Naqvi confirmed that Aaqib Javed had been appointed as interim head coach, and the PCB would soon announce a permanent coaching appointment. He also addressed media speculation about wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan, who was reportedly upset over limited authority within the team. “I won’t comment on that,” Naqvi said when asked directly.

He further added that minor changes in the women’s team had helped align the squad on the right track and expressed hope that Pakistan’s Under-19, Shaheens, and national teams would also follow suit.
