Pakistan Will Not Compromise on Sovereignty: Tarar
ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has said that Pakistan has demonstrated its strength by delivering a strong response to its adversary in what he described as a “war of justice,” adding that the nation will not compromise on its honour and dignity.
Speaking to the media in Islamabad, he said Pakistan had already taken a clear and firm position on the Pahalgam incident during a speech at Kakul a year ago, which he described as a significant turning point in diplomatic efforts.
He added that Pakistan strongly rejected India’s allegations and instead called for an impartial and transparent investigation into the incident. According to him, the Prime Minister also termed the incident a tragedy and urged an end to blame games in the region.
Tarar stated that Pakistan expressed sympathy for the victims at the international level and successfully presented its position before the global community, claiming that several countries supported Pakistan’s call for an independent inquiry.
India Linked to Terror in Pakistan, Says Atta Tarar
He further said that India failed to respond positively to Pakistan’s demand for investigation and instead faced criticism in various forums. He also repeated allegations that India promotes terrorism, linking it to regional militant groups — claims that remain part of ongoing political tensions between the two countries.
The minister emphasized that Pakistan continues to play a frontline role in the fight against terrorism and has made significant sacrifices. He praised the armed forces, saying they remain fully capable of responding to any external threat and have consistently defended the country effectively under national leadership.
Tarar added that the Prime Minister had made it clear Pakistan would not compromise on sovereignty or dignity, and claimed that the country’s position had gained increased international recognition. He said overseas Pakistanis also felt encouraged by Pakistan’s diplomatic stance.
He concluded that Pakistan’s narrative had gained greater visibility at the global level, while India’s allegations were not widely accepted internationally, calling recent diplomatic developments a “milestone” in the country’s history.
