Pakistan US Join Hands Against BLA TTP Threats
Pakistan and US Join Forces to Combat Terrorism, Targeting BLA, TTP, and ISIS-K
Pakistan – US – (Special – Correspondent / Web Desk) -Pakistan and the United States have reaffirmed their commitment to work together on global platforms, including the United Nations, to create strong and lasting strategies against terrorism. Both countries emphasized the need for close cooperation to fight all forms of violent extremism and ensure regional peace and security.
The joint statement came a day after the U.S. officially named the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and its Majeed Brigade as Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs). These groups have been linked to deadly attacks across Pakistan, threatening civilians and law enforcement personnel. The designations aim to disrupt their operations and funding worldwide.
The latest Pakistan–U.S. Counterterrorism Dialogue took place in Islamabad, co-chaired by Pakistan’s UN Special Secretary Nabeel Munir and U.S. Acting Counterterrorism Coordinator Gregory D. LoGerfo. Both sides stressed the importance of working together to combat terrorist groups like the BLA, ISIS-Khorasan, and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
The United States recognized Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to stop terrorist networks that threaten both regional and global peace. The U.S. also expressed condolences for the victims of recent attacks, including the Jaffar Express train attack and the school bus bombing in Khuzdar, honoring the lives lost in these tragic events.
Both nations highlighted the importance of building stronger institutions and improving security measures to respond to emerging terrorist threats. The partnership between Pakistan and the United States remains vital for maintaining peace, countering terrorism, and promoting stability in the region.

The BLA was first listed as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT) in 2019.
