ISLAMABAD: In the ongoing Under-19 tri-nation series, Pakistan Under-19 defeated Afghanistan Under-19 by one wicket in a thrilling encounter.
The second match of the series was played in Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe, where Afghanistan were bowled out for 226 runs in their allotted 50 overs. For Afghanistan, Usman scored 75 runs while captain Mehboob Khan contributed 49. Pakistan’s bowlers put up a strong performance, with Usman Khan taking four wickets, while Muhammad Sayyam and Daniyal Ali claimed two wickets each.
In reply, Pakistan’s chase was led by captain Farhan Yousuf, who scored 65 runs, but no other batter managed to stay long at the crease. Wicketkeeper-batter Hamza Zahoor then played a crucial role in rescuing Pakistan from a difficult situation.

Hamza Zahoor first added 36 runs in partnership with Daniyal Khan. Pakistan were reduced to 201 for nine, but Hamza held his nerve and guided the team to victory with three balls to spare.
He played a match-winning unbeaten innings of 68 runs off just 51 balls, hitting eight fours and one six to seal a memorable win for Pakistan.
