Pakistan Shoots Down Taliban Drones, Debris Injures Civilians: ISPR
Pakistan Intercepts Taliban Drones; Falling Debris Injures Four Civilians
RAWALPINDI: (Web Desk) – Four people, including two children, were injured after debris from crude drones shot down by Pakistan’s military fell in different cities, according to a report by 24NewsHD.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the Afghan Taliban launched several rudimentary drones on March 13, 2026, in what it described as an attempt to intimidate the people of Pakistan. The statement added that Pakistan’s defence systems intercepted the drones using both electronic countermeasures and direct interception, preventing them from reaching their intended targets.
Despite the successful interception, falling debris from the destroyed drones caused injuries to two children in Quetta, while one civilian each was hurt in Kohat and Rawalpindi.
The ISPR said the drone launches were meant to spread fear among civilians and reflect what it called the “terrorist mindset” of the Afghan Taliban. According to the military’s media wing, the Taliban try to present themselves as victims internationally while allegedly supporting militant activities and attacks on civilians through proxies and drone operations.
The statement further said that Pakistan’s public and armed forces remain fully aware of the intentions of what it described as militant groups operating from Afghan territory. It reiterated that Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq would continue until Islamabad’s concerns regarding cross-border terrorism are addressed.

Security officials earlier reported that several drones were detected near Rawalpindi on Friday and were brought down using electronic warfare systems. Authorities briefly closed airspace in the area as a precaution but later reopened it once the situation was declared safe.
Separately, the Ministry of Information said on X that two drones linked to what it referred to as “Fitna al-Khawarij” were intercepted before reaching any sensitive targets. Officials said no military installations were hit and that only minor damage occurred due to debris from the forced crashes.
The ministry also rejected claims circulated by Afghanistan’s defence ministry that a Pakistani military facility in Faizabad had been attacked and casualties had occurred. According to Pakistani authorities, the claim lacked evidence and was part of misinformation frequently shared by Taliban-linked accounts.
Pakistan maintains that militant groups such as Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) operate from Afghan territory and has repeatedly urged the Taliban government to prevent attacks originating from across the border.
