Pakistan Shaheens triumph over Sri Lanka a by 108 runs in first ODI

RAWALPINDI (Mudassar Iqbal Ch)- Pakistan Shaheens delivered a dominant performance to secure a commanding 108-run victory over Sri Lanka A in the first One-Day International (ODI) of their three-match series, taking a 1-0 lead.

Batting first at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Pakistan Shaheens posted a formidable total of 306/7 in their allotted 50 overs. The highlight of their innings was a brilliant century from Haider Ali, who played a sensational knock of 108 runs off 94 balls. His innings featured 8 boundaries and 6 sixes, showcasing his aggressive stroke play. Abdul Samad provided valuable support with a solid 56 runs, including 5 fours and a six, anchoring the middle order.

In reply, Sri Lanka A struggled to build partnerships and was bowled out for just 198 runs in 39.4 overs. Chamindu Wickramasinghe was the top scorer for the visitors with 47 runs, while Sonal Dhanusha contributed 38 runs. However, the Sri Lankan batting lineup could not cope with the disciplined Pakistan Shaheens’ bowling attack.

The standout performer with the ball was Sharoon Siraj, who bowled a clinical spell to claim 3 wickets for 21 runs. Imran Junior also impressed with the ball, picking up 2 wickets for 30 runs, as Pakistan Shaheens’ bowlers dominated throughout the innings.

Haider Ali’s match-winning performance earned him the Player of the Match award, adding to his growing reputation as a key player for Pakistan.

With this convincing win, Pakistan Shaheens will look to extend their lead in the series, with the second and third ODIs scheduled for November 27 and November 29 at the same venue, the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
