Pakistan Ready For India Challenge As Solano Targets Saff Semi-Finals

Solano Backs Pakistan’s Talent, Targets Saff Success And Professional League

ISLAMABAD – (Mudassir Iqbal) – Solano targets SAFF semi-finals as Pakistan head coach Nolberto Solano says his team is ready for the SAFF Championship 2026. He spoke at a press conference in Islamabad and sounded confident about the Green Shirts.

Solano promised a strong performance against arch-rivals India. He said the match will be intense and knows how much it means to football fans in both countries.

The coach said his players will show determination in every game. He wants good results and hopes to give Pakistani fans many reasons to feel proud.

Pakistan are in the same group as India and Maldives. The team’s first goal is to reach the semi-finals, and the clash with India will be one of the biggest tests of the campaign.

Solano was also asked if Pakistan can fight for a place on the podium. He answered with hope and said the team will push for the best possible finish against regional rivals.

He added that teamwork, discipline and commitment will matter most in this campaign.

The coach praised the country’s young talent as well. He pointed to Pakistan’s historic place at the FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival 2026 as proof that real potential exists.

According to Solano, the young players have raised hopes for the future. He said they need proper chances, regular training and international exposure to grow.

A reporter asked about the gap between Pakistan and other teams in skill, fitness and standards. Solano said the country needs a stronger football structure, and the game must reach the grassroots level.

He explained that talented youngsters need a clear path. Clubs, academies and competitive matches should help them move up and one day play for the national team.

Solano also welcomed the idea of a professional football league in Pakistan. He hopes it can start next year and called it a big step for fitness, match experience and professional habits.

The coach stressed the value of pre-season preparation too. Regular training and strong domestic football, he said, are key to better fitness and steady performances.

His words showed a bigger plan for Pakistan football. The focus goes beyond one tournament, towards a professional league, grassroots investment and a lasting path for the next generation.
