Pakistan ODI Squad Arrives in Melbourne for Australia Series
PCB Chairman meets with new captain Muhammad Rizwan and vice-captain Salman Ali Agha ahead of international matches
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced that several members of the Pakistan ODI squad have reached Melbourne, with the remaining players scheduled to join them today.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi recently met with Pakistan’s new white-ball captain, Muhammad Rizwan, and vice-captain Salman Ali Agha, as they gear up for the ODI and T20I series against Australia and Zimbabwe. Naqvi expressed confidence in their leadership, extending his best wishes and emphasizing the honor and responsibility that comes with captaining the national side.
Naqvi highlighted the trust placed in Rizwan, stating, “Leading the Pakistan team is a significant duty. The nation is eager to see you guide the squad to success in these upcoming international contests. This squad is filled with talented professionals, and we are hopeful to witness exceptional performances.”
The Chairman also encouraged the team to remain united and resilient, remarking, “Victory comes from teamwork and fighting till the very end. When you play as one, no opponent can stand in your way.”
Both Rizwan and Salman expressed gratitude to Naqvi for his confidence in their abilities, promising dedication and high-level performances on these away tours. “We are fully committed to delivering our best, aiming to fulfill the expectations of our fans and the country,” Rizwan stated.
