Railways Minister Credits Maryam Nawaz for “Autopilot Speed” Governance in Punjab

Lahore: (Web Desk) – Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi signed a historic memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Government of Punjab and Pakistan Railways to provide European-style transport to approximately 110 million people of Punjab. She said that fast trains and modern trains will be operated on 1,415 KM long 08 local routes across 20 regions of Punjab. She added that Punjab Government will provide modern Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) trains on these routes including Shahdara to Narowal (79 km); Narowal to Sialkot (62 km); Raiwind, Kasur, Pakpattan to Lodhran (370 km); Sheikhupura, Jaranwala to Shorkot (220 km); Lala Musa, Malakwal to Sargodha (147 km); and Faisalabad to Shahinabad via Chak Jhumra (68 km); besides a 303 km long inter-provincial route from Kot Addu to Kashmor via Dera Ghazi Khan. She highlighted that Punjab Government will also bring new railway engines and modern coaches on new routes.

Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi praised Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for launching this historic public service project with Pakistan railway. He was happy to note that Chief Minister Punjab will herself lead and supervise this railway transport project, and vowed to change history of Pakistan Railways following her example. He said that with the support of Punjab Government, approximately 90 million people would benefit from these 09 routes. He highlighted that revolutionary steps have been taken in Punjab under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, as she has launched ‘Suthra’ Punjab programme across the entire province.

Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi said that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has made historic interventions in health, education, IT, and other sectors. He thanked her for changing the dismal condition of Lahore’s historic railway station, and added that they are introducing an automatic system across Punjab to prevent railway accidents. He noted that beautification of railway stations and construction of world-class parking are being ensured. He underscored that with 40 km long green parks from Shahdara to Raiwind, pleasant European-style scenery will appear along the tracks, besides more than 400,000 trees to be planted alongside railway tracks in Punjab.

Railways Minister acknowledged that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has put the entire Punjab on autopilot due to her outstanding speed. He said thst over 70% people in Punjab have expressed satisfaction over her leadership, as her work is visible, which is itself a success. He lamented that in the past, not a single kilometer of railway track was laid nor did anyone invest in Pakistan Railways, but after taking over the portfolio of Railways Minister, he is grateful to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for fulfilling their dream of quality railway transport in Punjab. He said that people of Punjab will be provided with the rail travel facilities matching European standards, and acknowledged that Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb worked very hard for a year to turn Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s dream into reality.
