Pakistan and Kazakhstan Strengthen Ties with 19 Agreements Signed

Islamabad: (Web Desk) – Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev arrived at the Prime Minister’s House on Wednesday, where he was warmly received by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. A ceremonial guard of honor was presented, and the national anthems of both countries were played. Cabinet members and the visiting delegation were formally introduced.

The leaders held high-level talks covering bilateral relations, regional issues, and ways to enhance cooperation across various sectors. Following the meeting, memoranda of understanding (MoUs) and agreements were signed to further strengthen Pakistan-Kazakhstan ties. A joint declaration was also issued.

In total, 19 MoUs and agreements were exchanged, covering multiple areas including:

  • UN Peacekeeping cooperation

  • Mining and petroleum sector collaboration

  • Prisoner exchange agreements

  • Maritime sector cooperation

  • Transit trade, customs, and railway cooperation

  • Climate change initiatives

  • Partnership in virtual assets

  • Protection and veterinary services

  • Artificial intelligence and digital development

The signing ceremony was attended by Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, and Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal. Both leaders emphasized their commitment to maintaining close coordination and further strengthening bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Kazakhstan.
