Tirmizi Highlights Growth in Agro-Exports, UAE as Key Trading Partner

Dubai – Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, officially inaugurated the Pakistan Pavilion at the 30th edition of Gulfood 2025, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from February 17-21, 2025. The event, one of the world’s largest food and beverage trade exhibitions, is hosting over 5,500 exhibitors from 129 countries.

At the inauguration, Ambassador Tirmizi was joined by Consul General Hussain Muhammad and Trade & Investment Counselor Ali Zeb Khan. Under the umbrella of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), 45 Pakistani companies are exhibiting a diverse range of agro-based products, including rice, cereals, meat, dairy, spices, cheese, processed food, bakery items, salt, herbal products, honey, horticulture, juices, and beverages.

In addition to the TDAP-organized exhibitors, over 200 privately participating Pakistani companies are also taking part, highlighting the nation’s growing presence in the global food market.

Ambassador Tirmizi expressed his pride in Pakistan’s participation, stating, “It is a matter of great pride that 45 companies under TDAP, along with 200 privately participating companies, are showcasing their products at this prestigious event. Our strategically located stalls are designed to attract both local and global buyers. Products like basmati rice, spices, pink salt, and cheese are generating significant interest.”

Tirmizi also emphasized the increasing trend of Pakistan’s agro-based exports, particularly to the MENA region, and acknowledged the UAE as one of Pakistan’s key trading partners. Malik Faisal Jehangir, Chairman of the Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP), expressed gratitude to Ambassador Tirmizi and the Commercial Section of the Pakistan Consulate Dubai for their continuous support, which has played a key role in enhancing Pakistan’s participation in international trade events like Gulfood.
