Pakistan Embassy Postpones E-Passport Services in UAE Until Further Notice

ABU DHABI: (News Desk) – The Embassy of Pakistan in Abu Dhabi has postponed the launch of its e-passport services in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), delaying the rollout that was originally scheduled for July 20, 2026.
In an official public notice, the embassy said the decision was made due to unavoidable technical and administrative reasons. As a result, the acceptance and processing of passport applications under the e-passport category have been suspended until further notice.
The embassy stated that a new launch date will be announced once the necessary arrangements are completed.
However, it clarified that the issuance and renewal of Machine-Readable Passports (MRPs) will continue without interruption under the existing procedures. Applicants seeking new MRPs or passport renewals can continue to avail themselves of these services as usual.
The embassy thanked the Pakistani community in the UAE for its patience and cooperation, advising residents to regularly check its official website and social media platforms for updates regarding the revised launch of the e-passport service.
The postponement temporarily affects applicants who were planning to switch to the new e-passport system, while existing passport services remain fully operational.
