Pakistan receives international acclaim for brokering Iran-US ceasefire

Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan is receiving widespread international acclaim for its pivotal role in brokering the ceasefire between Iran and United States, with global media and organizations congratulating the country for its successful diplomacy.

Reports from leading outlets such as CNN, BBC, Fox News, Al Jazeera, and Arab media have highlighted Pakistan’s efforts in reducing regional tensions, calling it a significant “diplomatic success.” Headlines across the world echoed the sentiment with phrases like “Thank you, Pakistan,” underscoring the nation’s newfound recognition on the global stage.

Iran thanks Pakistan for ceasefire, seeks 10-point peace deal with US

According to Fox News, the ceasefire came after critical discussions between US President Donald Trump and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Fox News reported that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir persuaded the US President to postpone any military action, enabling ongoing negotiations between the two nations.

The BBC stated that, at Pakistan’s request, the US and Iran have agreed to a two-week ceasefire, during which attacks will be suspended and the strategic Strait of Hormuz will remain open—a key development for global trade.

Al Jazeera highlighted that the temporary ceasefire was made possible due to Pakistan’s effective diplomacy, and confirmed that high-level talks between the US and Iran will take place in Islamabad on April 10, 2026.

While celebrations and international praise continue globally, Israeli media have reportedly downplayed the ceasefire. Instead, they focused on reports of sirens sounding in Tel Aviv, with limited attention given to President Trump’s announcement and the historic Pakistan-mediated agreement.
