Pakistan Debunks Afghan Propaganda, Reports Major Gains in Operation Ghazab Lil Haq
796 Militants Killed in Operation Ghazab Lil Haq, Says Government
ISLAMABAD(Mudassar Iqbal/News Desk)- The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MoIB) has strongly rejected claims made by a spokesperson of the Afghan Taliban regime regarding Operation Ghazab Lil Haq, terming them as false propaganda and misleading assertions.
In an official statement issued on Sunday, the ministry clarified that Pakistan’s actions under the ongoing operation are focused, precise, and targeted solely against terrorist elements. It emphasized that operations are directed at Fitna al Khawarij and militant infrastructure located inside Afghanistan, and are conducted with accuracy to avoid collateral damage.
The MoIB stated that the Afghan spokesperson had once again resorted to spreading “a set of lies,” adding that Pakistan has maintained transparency in its actions. According to the ministry, updates regarding precision air strikes, destruction of militant posts, and casualties among terrorist ranks are regularly shared, often accompanied by visual evidence.
Contrasting this, the ministry accused the Afghan Taliban regime of disseminating fabricated narratives, including manipulated visuals and alleged AI-generated propaganda content. It further alleged that such misinformation campaigns are amplified by external actors and propaganda networks.
The statement also drew attention to recent terrorist incidents within Pakistan, attributing them to groups operating from Afghan territory. It cited a recent attack in Domail, Bannu, where 10 civilians, including women and children, lost their lives. The ministry described the attack as a “cowardly act” and linked it to militant networks allegedly supported from across the border.
Highlighting broader security concerns, the MoIB claimed that Afghan nationals are increasingly being used in terrorist activities within Pakistan. It added that evidence of such involvement has been presented in various forums and is available in the public domain, including discussions held during a recent provincial security conference in Balochistan.
The ministry also reiterated concerns about the presence of terrorist leadership within Afghanistan. It referenced multiple international reports, including those by global monitoring bodies, which have pointed to the existence of numerous militant groups operating under the protection of the Afghan Taliban regime.
Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar provided an update on the progress of Operation Ghazab Lil Haq, revealing significant developments in the ongoing campaign.
Pakistan rejects Afghan Taliban’s accusations of breaching agreed ceasefire deal
According to the minister, a total of 796 militants affiliated with Fitna al Khawarij and the Afghan Taliban have been killed so far, while more than 1,043 have sustained injuries. He noted that security forces have made substantial gains by destroying 286 militant check posts and capturing 44 others.
The operation has also resulted in the destruction of a large quantity of military equipment. Tarar stated that 249 tanks, armored vehicles, artillery systems, and drones used by militants have been neutralized, significantly weakening their operational capabilities.
In addition, the minister disclosed that 81 terrorist and support locations across Afghanistan have been targeted through coordinated air strikes. These actions, he said, are part of a broader strategy to dismantle militant infrastructure and prevent cross-border attacks.
Referring to a recent engagement, Tarar highlighted that an attempted militant assault on a border post in the Ghulam Khan sector during the night of April 2–3 was successfully foiled. Security forces responded effectively, resulting in the killing of up to 37 militants and injuries to more than 80 others.
The government has reiterated its commitment to safeguarding national security and countering terrorism in all its forms. Officials maintain that Operation Ghazab Lil Haq will continue until militant threats are neutralized and stability is restored in the region.
