Pakistan Criticizes US Sanctions, Warns of Regional Instability

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has strongly condemned the recent decision by the United States to impose sanctions on its National Development Complex and three commercial entities, calling the move “unfortunate” and “biased.”

In an official statement, the Pakistani Foreign Office argued that the sanctions contradict the pursuit of peace and security in the region. The statement emphasized that Pakistan’s strategic capabilities are primarily designed to safeguard its sovereignty and ensure stability in South Asia. It also warned that such policies could have severe consequences for the region’s strategic stability and extend beyond its borders.

The statement further highlighted that Pakistan’s strategic program is a vital trust, entrusted to its leadership by its 240 million citizens. This trust is held in the highest regard across the country’s political spectrum and cannot be compromised, it added.
