Pakistan Blasts India’s Reckless Conduct After Pahalgam Incident

Peace Tied to Kashmir Resolution, Says Ambassador Iftikhar

New York (Hanif Rehman)- In a strongly worded press briefing at the United Nations, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar, warned the international community about the increasing threat to regional stability posed by the Indian media’s irresponsible conduct and its alignment with the country’s ruling establishment.

Ambassador Iftikhar expressed deep concern over what he termed a “dangerous nexus” between the Indian government and its mainstream media, alleging that this alliance is not only misinforming the public but is also endangering peace in South Asia. “India continues to hurl baseless accusations at Pakistan after every unfortunate incident, without any credible evidence,” he stated. “This trend of scapegoating Pakistan for domestic and regional issues has gone too far, and the world can no longer afford to turn a blind eye.”

He urged the international community to take concrete action against what he called “India’s reckless and provocative behavior,” warning that such conduct is part of a broader strategy by New Delhi to pursue its political agenda at the cost of regional security. “For the sake of narrow domestic gains, India is playing with fire, risking not only bilateral ties but the broader peace of South Asia,” he emphasized.

The ambassador further highlighted that global sentiment has shifted, with several nations increasingly supporting Pakistan’s perspective on regional issues. “We are seeing growing international acknowledgment of our position,” he noted.

Ambassador Iftikhar reiterated Pakistan’s longstanding stance that lasting peace in South Asia is impossible without resolving the Kashmir issue in accordance with the United Nations Security Council resolutions. “The unresolved status of Jammu and Kashmir continues to fuel instability in the region. The implementation of UN resolutions is imperative for peace and justice,” he said.

In his concluding remarks, the ambassador called upon the global powers, especially the United Nations and other powerful countries to hold India accountable for its actions and to play a proactive role in de-escalating tensions in the region through impartial diplomacy and the enforcement of international law.
