Pakistan & Azerbaijan call for calm as Middle East tensions grow
Shehbaz Sharif and Ilham Aliyev discuss regional tensions and stress the need for peace after drone attack in Nakhchivan.
Pakistan & Azerbaijan – (Web Desk) – Pakistan and Azerbaijan have called for calm and a quick return to peace in the region. The message came during a phone call between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev on Friday.
During the talk, the prime minister strongly condemned the drone attacks on Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan a day earlier. The strikes targeted innocent civilians and caused deep concern.
Shehbaz Sharif told President Aliyev that Pakistan stands firmly with Azerbaijan in this difficult time. He said the people of Pakistan fully support their Azerbaijani brothers and sisters.
He apprised President Ilham Aliyev of Pakistan’s diplomatic outreach efforts in the aftermath of the ongoing crisis in Iran and the Gulf region.
President Ilham Aliyev thanked the Prime Minister for the telephone call and appreciated the sentiment of solidarity and support of the people of Pakistan at this challenging time.
