Pakistan Army reaffirms resolve against terrorism and external threats
COAS Asim Munir leads Corps Commanders Conference in Rawalpindi
RAWALPINDI: (Web Desk) – In Rawalpindi, Syed Asim Munir, serving as Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Staff, chaired the 274th Corps Commanders’ Conference at General Headquarters. The high-level meeting brought together senior military leadership to review key security developments.
The forum began with prayers for the martyrs of the Armed Forces, law enforcement agencies, and civilians who sacrificed their lives in the defence of Pakistan. Participants paid tribute to their dedication, describing their sacrifices as a foundation of the country’s security and stability.
During the session, the army chief praised the professionalism and operational readiness of the Pakistan Armed Forces. He highlighted their continued success in intelligence-based counter-terrorism operations and emphasized the importance of coordination between the government, military, and citizens in strengthening national security and economic resilience.
The conference included a detailed assessment of both internal and external security challenges. The leadership reiterated its resolve to eliminate all terrorist networks and their facilitators, particularly those allegedly backed by external elements. The forum also stressed that operations such as Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq will continue until militant safe havens are dismantled and cross-border threats are neutralized.

Participants acknowledged the government’s diplomatic efforts to promote peace in the Middle East, supporting calls for restraint, dialogue, and de-escalation. Pakistan’s role as a responsible regional actor committed to stability and constructive engagement was also reaffirmed.
The forum strongly condemned recent attacks targeting Saudi Arabia’s industrial and petrochemical facilities, warning that such actions could undermine ongoing peace efforts. It appreciated the restraint shown by Saudi Arabia despite provocations and stressed the importance of maintaining a conducive environment for diplomatic solutions.
The participants also rejected allegations and disinformation attributed to India, stating that such narratives lack credibility. Concerns were raised over reported human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, including claims of extrajudicial actions and staged encounters.
In his closing remarks, the army chief directed commanders to uphold the highest levels of preparedness and professionalism. He expressed confidence in the armed forces’ ability to effectively counter all threats and safeguard Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
