Six Pakistanis from Mandi Bahauddin missing off Italy

Six young men from Mandi Bahauddin are missing after a migrant boat sank near Italy carrying 105 passengers from Libya.

Mandi Bahauddin – (Web Desk) – In a heartbreaking turn of events, six young men from Mandi Bahauddin district are feared to have lost their lives after a migrant boat capsized in treacherous waters near the Italian coast while making the perilous journey from Libya to Italy.

The ill-fated vessel was carrying approximately 105 migrants when it went down in deep waters, leaving devastated families back home desperately clinging to hope. Only around 30 survivors managed to reach safety at an Italian government shelter camp, while rescue teams continue to search tirelessly for the remaining 75 passengers still unaccounted for.

Among those feared missing are five young men from the village of Thatta Kadiwala in Tehsil Phalia, along with one person each from the neighbouring areas of Ranmal Sharif and Pindi Lala. Grief-stricken families are anxiously awaiting any news of their loved ones as search operations remain ongoing.

A survivor from the area, Imran Asghar Ghuman, informed relatives after reaching a shelter camp in Italy, prompting scenes of mourning in the affected villages.

Pakistan Mediation Nears Breakthrough in Iran Conflict

Families of the missing appealed to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to intervene and help trace their loved ones.

The incident is the latest in a string of deadly migrant boat disasters involving Pakistanis attempting to reach Europe via irregular routes through Libya.
