PAF Cadets Pay Tribute to Quaid at Mausoleum

KARACHI: (News Desk) – A grand changing of the guards ceremony was held at the Mazar-e-Quaid in Karachi, where cadets of the Pakistan Air Force Academy Asghar Khan paid tribute to the Father of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, through an impressive ceremonial parade.

Air Officer Commanding Pakistan Air Force Academy Asghar Khan, Air Vice Marshal Hassan Faisal, attended the ceremony as the chief guest. The PAF Academy cadets formally assumed guard duties at the mausoleum as part of the Defence Day commemorations.

A smartly turned-out contingent of 72 cadets, comprising 64 male and eight female cadets, participated in the ceremony.

Air Vice Marshal Hassan Faisal inspected the parade before visiting the Quaid-e-Azam’s grave. He laid a floral wreath and offered Fateha for the Father of the Nation. He also recorded his remarks in the visitors’ book.

Addressing the ceremony, Air Vice Marshal Hassan Faisal said September 6 serves as a reminder of a defining chapter in Pakistan’s history and the sacrifices made for the country’s defence.

He said Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had given the nation the guiding principles of unity, faith and selfless sacrifice, which continue to serve as a source of strength for Pakistan.

The air chief also recalled the role of the Pakistan Air Force during the wars of 1965 and 1971, as well as its contribution during various challenging periods in the country’s history.

He said Pakistan’s armed forces had repeatedly foiled attempts to undermine the country’s security, while the Pakistan Air Force had consistently lived up to the expectations of the nation.

Air Vice Marshal Hassan Faisal stressed that Pakistan’s airspace remains under the capable protection of the Pakistan Air Force, which continues to regard national defence as its foremost responsibility.

Referring to recent tensions, he said the Pakistan Air Force had responded effectively to Indian aggression and described the outcome as a victory in the battle for truth.

He reaffirmed that the PAF remains committed to safeguarding Pakistan’s security and sovereignty, adding that the country would not compromise on its dignity, independence or territorial integrity.
