Omoda E5 Launches as One of Pakistan’s Most Affordable Electric SUVs

Pakistan’s electric SUV market is getting more competitive with the launch of the Omoda E5, arriving alongside the recently introduced Jaecoo J7. The new model comes through Chery’s partnership with NextGen Auto, a Nishat Group subsidiary that already assembles Hyundai vehicles in the country.

Dimensions and Exterior

The Omoda E5 measures 4,424 mm long, 1,830 mm wide, and 1,588 mm high, with a 2,630 mm wheelbase, giving it a compact yet practical footprint for urban and highway use.

Its exterior features a full LED lighting setup, including headlights, tail lamps, rear fog lights, and sequential rear turn signals. The SUV also comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, dual spoilers, rain-sensing wipers, and power-folding heated mirrors. Convenience touches like puddle lamps and a sunroof with a retractable shade add a premium feel.

Interior and Comfort

Inside, the cabin features a dual 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and multimedia touchscreen, paired with a Sony 8-speaker system supporting Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.

Both front seats are powered, with 6-way adjustment for the driver and 4-way for the passenger, and the front row is ventilated. Passengers also get rear AC vents, USB Type-A and Type-C ports, and multicolor ambient lighting. The E5 seats five occupants, with split-folding rear seats and a rear armrest for added practicality.

Performance and Range

The Omoda E5 is powered by a 150 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor, producing 204 hp and 340 Nm of torque, driving the front wheels through a reduction gear transmission. Drivers can switch between Eco, Normal, and Sport modes.

Its 61 kWh LiFePO4 battery delivers up to 430 km WLTP or 505 km NEDC range on a single charge, with the charging port located in the front grille.

Safety Features

Safety is a strong focus with six airbags, ABS, EBD, BAS, ESP, Multi-Collision Brake, and ISOFIX child seat mounts. It also includes front and rear parking sensors, a reverse camera, and a 360° surround-view monitor. Anti-theft measures include an immobilizer, burglar alarm, passive entry with walk-away auto-lock, and proximity keys.

Price and Booking

The Omoda E5 FWD with the 61 kWh battery is priced at Rs. 8,990,000, with bookings open at Rs. 1,700,000. Deliveries are expected in around 2.5 months.
