Omar Ayub Raises Concerns Over Balochistan’s Crisis, Criticizes Government’s Handling of National Issues
Islamabad – Opposition Leader in the National Assembly and PTI leader, Omar Ayub, has raised serious concerns over the situation in Balochistan, claiming that in 7 to 8 districts of the province, the national anthem is not played, and the national flag is not hoisted. He described this as a critical issue and warned that the situation in the country is heading towards the circumstances of 1971.
In a media talk outside the Anti-Terrorism Court in Lahore, Ayub severely criticized the government and termed the situation in Balochistan dangerous. He mentioned that the national anthem and flag are not observed in several districts of Balochistan, which, he argued, is a serious concern for the country. He further warned that if the current trajectory continues, it could lead to catastrophic outcomes similar to those witnessed in 1971.
He also highlighted that Dr. Maherang Baloch was not allowed to hold a public gathering, which he said could have dangerous consequences. He warned the government not to control people through force and challenged the authorities to enter Balochistan without wearing a uniform.
Ayub also alleged that the Punjab administration is denying PTI permission to hold public gatherings, while claiming that 500 billion rupees worth of fuel is being smuggled through Balochistan, questioning who is responsible for this.
On the issue of inflation, he claimed that it would continue to rise due to the government’s lack of a coherent policy. He also condemned the Federal Board of Revenue’s decision to purchase new vehicles.
The opposition leader criticized the PICA Act, stating that it is being used as a weapon against journalists and the opposition. He pointed out that the PPP had voted in favor of the Act, while PTI had opposed it. Ayub claimed that the PICA Act is a poison for Pakistan’s democracy and Constitution and is being used as a tool against democratic forces.

Furthermore, Ayub pointed out that while the Punjab police fail to deal with the notorious criminals in the Kacha area, they act swiftly against PTI workers. He also highlighted the government’s failure to control the smuggling across the border from tribal areas.
Lastly, Ayub reiterated his claim that the founder of PTI, Imran Khan, and Bushra Bibi are political prisoners, accusing the government of carrying out retaliatory actions against the opposition.
