LAHORE: (Showbiz Desk) – An old video featuring Pakistani actress Momina Iqbal and Punjab Assembly member Saqib Chadhar has resurfaced on social media, renewing online discussion about their earlier controversy, while Momina’s husband Hamza Habib has shared a series of posts touching on women’s dignity, legal procedures and public criticism.
The circulating video reportedly shows Momina and Saqib Chadhar together at a mehndi stall, with both appearing to wear masks. Chadhar can be seen writing the initials of his and Momina’s names on her hands, after which the actress appears to show the writing to the camera.
The resurfaced clip has prompted mixed reactions on social media. Some users responded with jokes and sarcasm, while others criticised pages for circulating what they considered to be private moments.
Meanwhile, Hamza Habib shared several Instagram stories expressing frustration over legal proceedings and comments targeting women’s character.
In one post, Hamza said people seeking justice can feel helpless because they are required to follow legal procedures. He expressed anger over the impact such disputes can have on people’s lives and the frustration of being unable to take immediate personal action because of the law.
In another message, he criticised those who make remarks about a woman’s character and urged them to consider how they would react if similar comments were directed at women in their own families.
Hamza also said men should protect women rather than humiliate them, adding that a beard and moustache alone do not define manhood.
Another message shared by him focused on women turning to social media when they feel their concerns are not being heard through legal channels.
He said that women may feel particularly helpless when people who initially support them later begin questioning them for speaking out. The message also highlighted the emotional pressure such situations can create and called for greater understanding of women who seek justice.
The posts come as the dispute involving Momina Iqbal and Saqib Chadhar continues to attract attention online. Momina has previously discussed the matter during an appearance with journalist Irshad Bhatti, where she reportedly presented digital material and other records in support of her account.
Momina has maintained that the material supports her version of events, while Saqib Chadhar has disputed the allegations against him.
