NUST Honors Outstanding Researchers with BRAIN Awards 2022-23

Islamabad(Staff Reporter);The National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST) celebrated the achievements of its exceptional faculty by conferring the Best Researcher and Innovator (BRAIN) Awards for the academic year 2022-23. The awards recognize outstanding researchers and innovators who have demonstrated excellence in securing funding, conducting cutting-edge research, producing high-quality publications, and creating impactful inventions.
Federal Minister for Science & Technology Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui graced the event as chief guest, and presented cash prizes and certificates to over 100 awardees in 108 different categories. Extending his heartiest felicitations to the award recipients, the chief guest remarked that in an era where advanced research and innovation hold paramount significance, the outstanding contributions of the faculty are invaluable for their transformative impact on the society.
He termed their meritorious accomplishments a great service to the nation and an inspiration for the future generations of researchers and innovators. He also reiterated his ministry’s commitment to support every initiative geared towards advancing science and technology in the country.

Speaking at the ceremony, Lt Gen (Retd) Engr Javed Mahmood Bukhari, Rector NUST, appreciated the award-winning faculty, whom he called the linchpin of NUST’s vibrant knowledge ecosystem. He said that these exceptional contributions of the faculty are a true reflection of NUST’s ethos that has consistently fostered a culture of academic rigour, innovation and paying back to the society.
He maintained that these awards reaffirm NUST’s commitment to strengthening a scholarly environment where research and innovation are nurtured and celebrated.
