Norway Updates Seasonal Work Visa System for Foreign Workers Starting 2025

Not all categories of workers will be eligible for this visa scheme.

Islamabad: The Norwegian authorities have updated the seasonal work visa system for foreign workers, with the new changes set to take effect from 2025.

According to the authorities, once individuals secure employment in Norway, they are advised to begin their application process immediately. During their stay in Norway, workers will be required to arrange accommodation, maintain a specified income level, and ensure proper health insurance coverage.

According to a report by Schengen News, Norway’s seasonal work visa program, which allows thousands of foreign laborers to come to Norway for employment, will introduce new regulations that will be enforced starting in the new year.

The new rules will affect eligibility, requirements, and the types of jobs included in the scheme. However, this program will only apply to certain types of workers. Visa holders will also need to spend at least six months outside Norway before they can reapply for the visa.

Who Will Be Affected by the New Rules?

Not all categories of workers will be eligible for this visa scheme. Professions such as carpentry, painting, and other similar fields will not qualify. However, applicants involved in seasonal demand-related roles, such as crop harvesting, tree planting, forestry work, tourism, and construction jobs, will be eligible to apply for this scheme.
