New Polio Case Confirmed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
A 10-month-old girl in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been confirmed as having contracted the polio virus, according to the National Health Institute.
This case marks the second instance of polio in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa this year, contributing to a total of 23 cases reported across the country.
Ayesha Raza, the Prime Minister’s Focal Person for Polio Eradication, has expressed serious concern regarding the increasing number of cases. She has urged parents to ensure that all children receive their polio vaccinations to prevent the further spread of the virus.
The Pakistan Polio Eradication Programme has documented four cases in Sindh, 15 in Balochistan, and one each in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad.
