New Look for Karachi’s National Stadium Unveiled
With Pakistan set to host the ICC Champions Trophy in 2025, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has introduced the updated design for Karachi’s National Stadium, a central venue for the event.
The redesign is part of a broader renovation initiative affecting major cricket venues nationwide, with the first phase expected to be finished before the Champions Trophy begins on February 19, 2025.
The PCB has outlined that the renovation will occur in two stages. The first stage, which involves structural improvements, is planned to be completed before the tournament starts. The second stage, which includes installing a new roof over the entire stadium, will be completed after the event.
The PCB has stated that the renovation will be executed in two stages. The first stage, which involves structural enhancements, is scheduled to be completed before the tournament. The second stage, which entails installing a new roof over the entire stadium, will be finished after the event.
The newly approved blueprint indicates significant modifications, including the construction of a new building in front of the main structure. This building will feature VIP boxes, a gallery, media rooms, and areas reserved for players’ families. The dressing rooms may also be relocated to this new facility. Furthermore, the old scoreboard building has already been demolished, along with the Iqbal Qasim and Naseem-ul-Ghani enclosures.
