Nawaz Sharif Unfazed by Election Outcome: Khwaja

PML-N Leader Khawaja Muhammad Asif Dismisses Reports of Nawaz Sharif’s Discontent.

Islamabad: In the midst of ongoing political deliberations regarding the formation of a coalition government in Islamabad and Lahore, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Khawaja Muhammad Asif refuted reports suggesting that party supremo Nawaz Sharif was dissatisfied with the election results, which showed the PML-N failing to secure a majority in the February 8 polls.

Speaking on a private news channel, Asif clarified that Nawaz Sharif was not disappointed with the results and emphasized that the party is committed to addressing the shortcomings and delivering relief to the masses once in government. He criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for its habit of contesting election results.

Asif also highlighted that the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) has accepted the election results, indicating a willingness to work within the framework of the democratic process.

Regarding independent candidates joining the PML-N, Asif denied allegations of offering bribes, stating that these candidates are aligning with the party voluntarily.

Expressing opposition to the power-sharing formula being discussed between the PPP and PML-N, Asif argued against the idea, citing the complexities involved in implementing various reforms and initiatives within the remaining three years of the term. He asserted the importance of maintaining stability and continuity in governance.
