
LAHORE: In a meeting with Punjab Assembly members from various districts, former Prime Minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif praised the government’s recent economic measures, particularly the reduction in the policy rate. Sharif stated that the move has successfully restored confidence within the business community.
He highlighted the positive impacts of the government’s economic decisions, noting that inflation has decreased, which provides relief to the public. Nawaz further emphasized that a continued decrease in prices would offer even more relief to citizens. He also commended the resumption of construction work and acknowledged the recognition of these efforts by global financial institutions.
Criticizing the opposition, Nawaz said their contribution has only been marked by bitterness, insults, and negativity. He stressed the importance of maintaining the continuity of development, asserting that if uninterrupted, Pakistan would have been ahead in the region and globally, sparing the public from hardships.
PML-N members at the meeting expressed their admiration for Nawaz and Shehbaz Sharif’s commitment to the state, noting their sacrifices and high standard of patriotism. They further asserted that only PML-N can provide relief to the nation during times of crisis.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz thanked the assembly members for their trust and emphasized the responsibility she feels in upholding the public service standards set by her father, Nawaz Sharif, and uncle, Shehbaz Sharif. She acknowledged that meeting these standards was no easy task.
The meeting also focused on public welfare projects and future political strategies. Senior party leaders, including Senator Pervez Rashid, Rana Sanaullah, and Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, were also present at the event.
