NATO Intercepts Iranian Missile Near Turkish Airspace
Iran did not immediately respond to the incident.
ISTANBUL (Web Desk): NATO’s air defense system shot down an Iranian ballistic missile heading towards Turkish airspace.
According to a foreign news agency, Turkey has warned all parties to avoid actions that could further escalate tensions.
It should be noted that there is also a US air base in Incirlik, near the Turkish province of Hatay. According to officials, the wreckage of the Iranian missile destroyed by NATO’s defense missile fell in the Hatay region.

According to the Turkish Ministry of Defense, the missile was heading towards Turkey through the airspace of Iraq and Syria, and was destroyed by NATO’s air and missile defense system deployed in the eastern Mediterranean.
According to sources, the Iranian ambassador in Ankara was summoned to the Turkish Foreign Ministry to protest the firing of a ballistic missile towards Turkey.
According to Turkish diplomatic sources, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan also spoke to his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araqchi over the phone and recorded the protest.
