Narendra Modi Congratulates Shehbaz Sharif as Prime Minister

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Shehbaz Sharif on assuming the position of Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his congratulations to Shehbaz Sharif for assuming the role of Prime Minister. In a message on the social media platform Twitter, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that he congratulated Shehbaz Sharif on assuming the position of Prime Minister. Besides the Indian Prime Minister, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and leaders of Iran and China have also congratulated Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and expressed good wishes for him.

Shehbaz Sharif, the Prime Minister-elect, took the oath of office as the 24th Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan yesterday.

US State Department Emphasizes Cooperation with Shehbaz Sharif’s Government

US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said that the focus will be on advancing shared interests with the government of Shehbaz Sharif. According to details, during a press conference, US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said that Maryam Nawaz’s election as Prime Minister holds significance in Pakistani politics, and the US has a long-standing partnership with Pakistan, viewing the alliance with value. Miller further stated that the US considers a prosperous and democratic Pakistan to be important for the interests of both countries. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his government will continue to focus on advancing shared interests.

The State Department spokesperson added that they are looking forward to cooperating with Pakistan to include women in the country’s political sphere. Cooperation continues with the Pakistan-US Women’s Council, the Soul Society, and other decision-making bodies.
