Interior Minister Naqvi Warns Against Challenging Writ of State

ISLAMABAD(Web Desk) – Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has reiterated that maintaining law and order is the government’s constitutional duty and will be enforced whenever necessary. Speaking to journalists at Jamia Ashrafia alongside Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Naqvi made it clear that anyone who takes up arms against the state will face a decisive response under the law.

He emphasized that negotiations fall under the responsibility of designated authorities, while his role is strictly limited to enforcing the law. Referring to guidance from the Holy Quran, Naqvi said the state’s response to armed rebellion is clearly defined.

Addressing protests, including those staged by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, the interior minister said the government has extensive experience in handling such situations and will respond in the same manner if required again. He also assured that religious scholars are fully protected and that their security remains a top priority.

Criticizing the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister, Naqvi questioned what steps were taken to ensure the safety of provincial officers and called for accountability over the province’s overall law and order situation. He concluded by stressing that any challenge to the writ of the state will be dealt with strictly according to the law.
