NAHE-HEC Faculty Training Workshop Progresses Successfully at UOG

GUJRAT: The National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE), under the Higher Education Commission (HEC), is conducting a month-long faculty training workshop for University of Gujrat lecturers and assistant professors, which is currently in progress. The workshop, which began on November 19, 2024, and will conclude on December 19, 2024, has been tailored to enhance the professional capabilities of faculty members, aiming to improve teaching standards and promote a holistic learning environment.

The training program is being attended by Lecturers and Assistant Professors from the University of Gujrat (UOG), who are actively participating in various interactive sessions and modules designed to address contemporary challenges in higher education.

On December 16, 2024, a significant training module titled “Psychological Well-being of Higher Education Teachers and Learners” was conducted by Dr. Mumtaz Fatima Jafari, a distinguished expert in educational psychology. The session provided insightful strategies for maintaining mental and emotional health among educators and students, emphasizing the importance of psychological resilience, self-care, and empathetic teaching practices.

The module received overwhelming appreciation from participants, who found it both relevant and impactful. Dr. Rizwan, Assistant Professor of Statistics at UOG, particularly commended Dr. Mumtaz Jafari for delivering practical and thought-provoking solutions to address stress and mental well-being challenges in the academic environment. Other participants, including Dr. Muhammad Ahsan Mukhtar and several faculty members, praised the session for its interactive and engaging nature. Many noted that the training would not only benefit their teaching methodologies but also enhance student engagement by fostering a supportive and positive classroom atmosphere.

During the closing remarks for the session, Prof. Dr. Audil Rashid, the Training Course Coordinator & Director ORIC, expressed gratitude to all participants for their enthusiastic involvement. He highlighted the importance of active participation in such training programs, which play a pivotal role in professional growth. Dr. Rashid extended special thanks to HEC and NAHE for identifying and providing access to such valuable resource persons, emphasizing how such initiatives are instrumental in strengthening the higher education sector of Pakistan.
