Pakistan Gains Global Recognition: 7 Companies Added to MSCI Indices

MSCI Adds 7 Pakistani Firms to Global Indices

MSCI has expanded its global indices by adding seven Pakistani companies, bringing the total number of Pakistani firms in these indices to 82. This marks a significant milestone for Pakistan’s growing presence in global financial markets.

Experts believe that this inclusion will likely attract more foreign investment into Pakistan’s capital market, providing greater growth opportunities. The latest rankings, released after MSCI’s quarterly review, highlight the performance of various sectors in the country.

Among the notable changes, the favorable engineering sector within the auto industry has been included in MSCI’s Main Frontier Market Index. Additionally, six Pakistani companies have been added to the Small Cap Index, although the oil and gas sector company, Hiscoll, has been removed from the same index.

MSCI, a leading force in global investments, counts 95 of the world’s 100 largest investment institutions as its clients. The inclusion of Pakistani companies is expected to capture the attention of major global investors, further integrating Pakistan into the international financial ecosystem.
