Police Chase, Arrest and 660kg Seizure: How Motorway Cops Cracked a Smuggling Bid on M-2
Khanqah Dogran – (Web Desk) – Motorway Police scored a major win against smugglers on Motorway M-2 near Khanqah Dogran, seizing contraband goods valued at Rs 2 million and taking one suspect into custody.
According to Motorway Police Central spokesperson Syed Imran Ahmad, the operation began after officers received a reliable tip-off. When they flagged down a suspicious vehicle, the driver refused to stop and instead tried to speed away.
Reacting swiftly, the police launched a coordinated pursuit and successfully cornered the vehicle near the motorway interchange, leaving the driver with no way out.
A thorough search of the vehicle revealed 660 kilograms of betel nuts that had been brought into the country without paying customs duties — a clear violation of import regulations.
Later, the Motorway Police handed over all the smuggled goods and vehicle to Pakistan Customs for further proceedings.
