MoneyGram Temporarily Halts Services Amid Cybersecurity Concerns
MoneyGram, the US-based financial services company recognized for its money transfer and cryptocurrency trading services, has temporarily suspended its operations due to an ongoing cybersecurity incident, the details of which remain unclear.
The issues reportedly began on Friday, September 20, when customers began facing difficulties, initially attributed to a network outage affecting connectivity.
Following further investigation, MoneyGram confirmed on Monday that a cybersecurity issue had been identified, impacting certain systems.
In a post on X, the company announced that an investigation is underway and that some systems have been taken offline, resulting in disruptions to network connectivity.
The firm stated that it is actively working to restore its systems and resume normal operations.

“We are making strides in restoring several of our essential transactional systems. Our committed team is working tirelessly to resume normal business operations,” MoneyGram stated in a post on Tuesday.
“Once all systems are fully operational, any pending transactions will be accessible to customers. We apologize for the inconvenience and will keep providing relevant updates as they become available,” the company added.
