Mohammad Nabi to Conclude ODI Career After 2025 Champions Trophy
Veteran All-Rounder to Continue Representing Afghanistan in T20 Matches

Afghanistan-(Sports Reporter): Afghanistan’s seasoned all-rounder, Mohammad Nabi, has decided to conclude his One Day International (ODI) career following the 2025 Champions Trophy, Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) Chief Executive Nasib Khan confirmed.
Nasib Khan revealed that Nabi had informed the board of his plans several months ago, and the ACB respects his decision. “We support Nabi’s choice, and he is expected to continue playing T20 cricket,” Khan noted, implying that while his ODI tenure will close, Nabi will still contribute in the shorter T20 format.
Since his international debut in 2009, Nabi has been a pivotal figure in Afghanistan’s cricket journey, even taking on the captaincy and leading the team through key development phases. Known for his tactical insight and versatility, Nabi has significantly influenced Afghanistan’s presence on the global cricket stage. He retired from Test cricket in 2019 to concentrate on limited-overs formats, where his skills have continued to be invaluable.
