Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain Assumes Additional Charge of Ministry of National Food Security

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Industries and Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain, has taken on the additional responsibility of the Ministry of National Food Security and Research, reaffirming the government’s commitment to the growth and productivity of Pakistan’s agricultural sector.

In his inaugural visit to the ministry on Thursday, Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain emphasized the pivotal role of agriculture as the backbone of the country’s economy. He underscored the government’s dedication to leveraging all available resources for the advancement of the agricultural sector.

“Pakistan’s progress and prosperity are intricately linked with the development of agriculture,” Minister Rana Tanveer remarked, expressing his resolve to implement tangible measures to foster the sector’s growth.

He outlined plans to formulate an integrated strategy aimed at enhancing the agricultural sector, acknowledging both the challenges and opportunities it faces. “I am fully committed to ensuring sustainable growth and development in our agriculture sector,” he affirmed.

Highlighting Pakistan’s rich agricultural heritage and its potential to significantly contribute to the national economy, Minister Rana Tanveer stressed the sector’s vital role in providing livelihoods and ensuring food security for millions.

However, he also acknowledged the various challenges impeding the sector’s growth, including climate change, water scarcity, and limited access to modern technology and markets. He pledged to address these issues to unlock the full potential of Pakistan’s agriculture sector.

Upon his arrival at the ministry, Minister Rana Tanveer was warmly received by Federal Secretary for National Food, Captain (r) Muhammad Asif, and senior officials. Subsequently, he received a comprehensive briefing on the ministry’s functions and operations.
