Maryam Nawaz lauds armed forces for defeating India in Marka-e-Haq

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz praised the Pakistan Armed Forces for their resolute and powerful response to Indian aggression during the Marka-e-Haq operation, calling the victory a moment that elevated Pakistan’s standing on the global stage.

Speaking at a ceremony marking Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day, the Chief Minister paid glowing tribute to the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, lauding his bold and decisive command in the face of external threats.

She also commended the Pakistan Air Force, highlighting that its fearless pilots successfully shot down six Indian fighter jets, showcasing exceptional skill and courage.

“A new Pakistan has emerged on the world map following this historic triumph,” Maryam Nawaz declared. She emphasized the importance of national unity, stating, “We stand together as an unbreakable wall in defense of our sovereignty.”

Vowing to confront forces that sow discord, she said, “We will defeat every mindset that seeks to divide or destabilize our country.”

In her address, the Chief Minister offered heartfelt prayers for the safety and strength of Pakistan and its armed forces. “Our prayers are with our brave defenders and our people. May Allah protect Pakistan,” she said, also praying, “May Allah raise the ranks of our martyrs.”
