Lahore-Tahir Chuhdary- Maryam Directs Authorities to Enforce Regulated Roti Price, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has issued a directive to ensure that roti is sold at the regulated price across the province, with no city allowed to sell it above the fixed rate. She also emphasized the need to provide flour at controlled rates throughout Punjab.

During a special meeting on price control in Lahore, CM Maryam received a detailed briefing on essential commodity rates. According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), Punjab has the lowest cost of essential food items compared to other provinces. CM Maryam expressed satisfaction with the province’s price control measures and praised the administrative efforts in managing these rates.

The meeting included a review of food prices in each district, with a focus on roti and flour rates. CM Maryam directed that roti must be sold at the established price across the province.

In a separate development, CM Maryam launched an online system for approving residential maps, enabling citizens to apply and receive approvals from home. The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) initiative allows citizens to upload maps, track processing, and download approved maps via the LDA mobile app or website.

CM Maryam praised the LDA’s digital reform, stating it will eliminate the need for citizens to visit LDA offices and wait in long queues. The online system will facilitate request submission, map upload, processing, and challan payment, with corrections and approved maps available for download.

The Chief Minister emphasized that digital reforms are being implemented rapidly across Punjab to modernize institutions, eradicate file culture, and liberate citizens from agent mafia and corruption, citing the successful Dastak pilot project, which will be expanded gradually.
