Lahore: Pakistan’s young squash stars, Mahnoor Ali and Sohail Adnan, have made their mark on the international sports scene by clinching the coveted U13 titles at the prestigious Scottish Junior Open 2024, cementing their status as rising talents in the sport.
In a spectacular display of skill and composure, Mahnoor Ali triumphed in the Girls U13 category with a dominant 3-0 win over India’s Divyanshi Jain in the final. Mahnoor’s remarkable performance saw her win with set scores of 11/5, 11/5, and 11/7, underlining her growing prowess on the court. This victory adds to her impressive list of accomplishments, including her historic triumph at the 2024 US Junior Open Squash Championship and multiple gold medals at the Australian Junior Open and Borneo Junior Open in 2023.
Sohail Adnan, who has been making waves in the junior squash circuit, claimed the Boys U13 title in a thrilling final. His impressive technical skills and mental resilience helped him overcome his opponent, further strengthening his position as one of the top junior players globally. Sohail’s victory follows his recent success at the Asian Junior U13 Championship in June 2024, proving his relentless dedication to excellence.
