London Hero: Muslim Guard Intervenes to Rescue Girl from Knife Assault

Landon: A 29-year-old store guard named Abdullah intervened to save an 11-year-old girl from a knife attack in London on Monday. Abdullah recounted that he heard a scream and saw an assailant attacking the girl. He immediately jumped in, restrained the attacker by holding the hand with the knife, and subdued him on the ground. Abdullah then managed to disarm the attacker and ensure the girl’s safety.

“Several others soon joined in, and we held him down until the police arrived,” Abdullah added. London’s Metropolitan Police reported that the attacker, a 32-year-old man, was arrested after seriously injuring an 11-year-old girl in a stabbing incident at Leicester Square in the city center.

The young girl will need additional hospital treatment, but her condition is not considered life-threatening. Her 34-year-old mother also sustained minor injuries. According to the police, the 32-year-old suspect was apprehended at the scene, and no other suspects are being sought in connection with the attack.

“An urgent investigation is underway, with detectives working to determine the exact circumstances of the incident,” said Detective Chief Superintendent Christina Jessah.

“At this stage, we do not believe the suspect and the victims were acquainted. While we are investigating the suspect’s motive, there is currently no indication that the attack was terror-related.”

This incident comes exactly two weeks after a tragic knife attack in Southport, northwest England, where three girls were killed and eight other children, along with two adults, were injured.

The stabbing occurred in the heart of London, in a bustling area popular with tourists and shoppers. A security guard told the Press Association (PA) that he intervened and disarmed the attacker who was assaulting the 11-year-old girl on the west side of Leicester Square.
