Lahore: The Lahore High Court has issued a notice against Punjab Home Secretary Noorul Amin Mengal following allegations of rape made by his ex-wife, Ambreen Sardar. Justice Farooq Haider presided over the hearing and directed the SHO South Cantonment and Home Secretary Punjab to appear in court on September 5.

The legal counsel for the petitioner, Ambreen Sardar, argued that despite her application to register a rape case against her ex-husband, the police failed to take action. According to the petition, rape is defined as having non-consensual sex with an ex-husband after divorce.
