Lahore Chief Traffic Officer Announces Shorter Wait for Driving Test Retakes

In a significant policy change, the Lahore Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) has introduced a new measure to simplify the driving license testing process.

Candidates who fail their road test will now be able to retake it after just 15 days, a notable decrease from the previous waiting period of 42 days. This adjustment follows a similar policy already in place for those who fail the sign test, according to CTO Amara Athar.

This new policy is part of an update to the Punjab Motor Vehicle Rules 1969, designed to save time and streamline the licensing process. Candidates who fail either the sign or road tests will have the opportunity to retake them after 15 days.

CTO Amara Athar also noted that all test sessions, including both road and sign tests, are recorded and stored. This measure is intended to ensure transparency and maintain merit within the licensing system.

The changes are expected to reduce the previously long waiting periods, making the process of obtaining a driving license more efficient and less frustrating for candidates.
