Nawaz Sharif to Travel to London Next Month for Medical Reasons
Ex-PM Nawaz Sharif Scheduled for Medical Exam in UK, Plans to See Sons
According to party sources, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is planning a trip to London next month.
Nawaz Sharif is expected to leave Pakistan on September 11, following the anniversary of his late wife Begum Kulsoom Nawaz’s death. The trip is reported to be for medical purposes, with Nawaz scheduled for a thorough medical examination by his doctors in London. After his check-up, he plans to spend time with his sons, who live in the UK.
The visit is anticipated to last between two and three weeks. However, party insiders suggest that Nawaz’s travel plans might be affected by the current political climate in Pakistan.

Nawaz Sharif, who returned to Pakistan on October 21 last year after an extended stay abroad, has remained a significant figure in the country’s politics. His potential departure to London comes at a time when the political situation in Pakistan is particularly unstable.
Sharif had returned to Pakistan on a chartered flight from Dubai, ending a four-year self-imposed exile in London. His return was seen as a strategic move to rally support before the February parliamentary elections.
Previously, Nawaz Sharif had been declared a fugitive for not attending court in 2019, which led to a 10-year prison sentence for corruption. He was allowed to travel abroad for medical treatment by then-Prime Minister Imran Khan after he complained of chest pains. Despite his initial plan to return, Sharif extended his stay in London on medical advice.
