Kurram – A police Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) came under gunfire near the Balishkhel check post in Lower Kurram, police officials confirmed. The attackers opened fire after the APC failed to stop for inspection.
In response, police fired back, and fortunately, no casualties were reported during the exchange. SHO Fazal Kareem and other police officers were in the vehicle at the time of the attack.
Local tribes suggested that the APC may have been transporting supplies for a rival tribe, which they believed triggered the attack. Police have launched an investigation into the incident to determine the motives and circumstances surrounding the assault.
