KP govt equally responsible if emergency imposed: JUI-F senator

Darvesh warns that the provincial government will share responsibility if governor’s rule or an emergency is imposed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

JUI-F – (Staff Reporter/Web Desk) – A JUI-F senator, Maulana Attaul Haq Darvesh, has clarified that party chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman took no part in the talks between the government and the PTI.

His statement comes at a time when political activity is rising in the country. Many people were curious about whether the JUI-F leadership had a role in the negotiations.

Darvesh also spoke about the situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said the provincial government would carry equal blame if governor’s rule or an emergency is imposed in the province.

He urged Chief Minister Sohail Afridi to fulfil his constitutional and administrative duties. According to him, the provincial leadership must focus on governance and keep the situation under control.

Responding to a question, the senator said PTI leaders had discussed their planned long march with Maulana Fazlur Rehman. However, he made it clear that this discussion was separate from the government talks.

The remarks show that the JUI-F wants to keep its position clear. The party does not want its name linked to negotiations in which it had no role.

Political observers will now watch how the PTI moves ahead with its long march plan and how the provincial government responds.
