KP Announces Summer Vacation Schedule For Schools
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Declares Summer Holidays Amid Rising Temperatures
ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) -The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced summer vacations for educational institutions in the province’s plain areas as rising temperatures continue to intensify.
According to an official notification issued by the education department, schools and colleges in the plains will remain closed from June 1 to August 31, 2026. However, officials noted that the break will effectively begin earlier, from May 22, due to Eid holidays and the regular weekly weekend closures.
The department added that the vacation schedule for both plain and mountainous regions had been finalized in advance to ensure academic planning across the province.
In colder hilly areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, educational institutions will observe summer holidays from July 1 to July 31, 2026, reflecting the region’s comparatively cooler climate.
The announcement comes as multiple provinces across Pakistan adjust academic calendars in response to extreme weather conditions. Schools in Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan have already begun summer vacations earlier this month due to rising temperatures.
