PTI Leadership Gears Up for Demonstration

Sheikh Waqas, a senior PTI leader, announced via X (formerly Twitter) that today’s meeting will be attended by national and provincial assembly members from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and party leaders. The gathering will assess preparations for the protest and finalize strategies to ensure maximum participation, with specific responsibilities assigned to leaders and representatives to ensure the protest’s success.

Possible Protest Postponement Amid Calls from Other Parties

PTI had conditionally agreed to postpone the protest if a meeting with their leader, Imran Khan, was facilitated. Several political parties, including Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI), and Jamaat-e-Islami, have urged PTI to further delay the protest due to the SCO summit. JUI’s chief, Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman, spoke with PTI’s Asad Qaiser, advocating for postponement and suggesting discussions on constitutional amendments.

Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman also requested that medical facilities and access to Imran Khan’s personal physician be arranged.
