Khawaja Saad Rafique Undergoes Stent After Heart Attack

Lahore (Web Desk): Senior Pakistan Muslim League (N) leader and former railways minister Khawaja Saad Rafique was shifted to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology after suffering a heart attack in Lahore.

According to sources, doctors discovered a blocked artery during medical examination and immediately performed a procedure to insert a stent. Following successful treatment and a period of observation, he was discharged from the hospital and advised complete rest at home.

His younger brother, Khawaja Salman Rafique, who currently serves as Punjab’s Health Minister, remained present at the hospital along with other family members throughout the treatment.

Speaking about his condition, Khawaja Saad Rafique said he had initially visited the hospital for a routine check-up after feeling discomfort. However, further tests revealed a blockage in one of his arteries, prompting doctors to carry out an immediate intervention.

“By the grace of Almighty Allah, I am feeling much better now and have returned home after receiving timely medical care,” he stated.

Doctors have recommended rest and follow-up consultations to ensure a smooth recovery.
